Honouring former principal Mike Babb

Long-time Elmwood High School principal and passionate educator Mike Babb was honoured on October 23, 2024, when we unveiled the expanded donor plaque at the high school.

Mike retired in June 2023 after serving nearly 20 years as principal and vice-principal of Elmwood High. He has been incredibly supportive of the Legacy Fund since its inception, and we were happy to recognize his passion, skill, and commitment.

Upon his retirement, Mike and his family made a generous donation to the EHS Legacy Fund and are now a member of our Emerald Circle. Emerald Circle donors can create their own named scholarship, and the Babb Family Scholarship will be awarded to a graduating student each year.

The Babb Family Scholarship joins our three existing Emerald Circle scholarships, created with a donation of $10,000 or more to the Fund: the Boughton Family Scholarship, Bill Petrie Memorial Football Scholarship, and Val Harder Memorial Scholarship.
